SM City Baliwag recently opened its doors to the public. One couldn't miss its festive air as thousands of shoppers quickly filled the mall when-in the SM tradition-- SM Prime Holdings president Hans Sy and SM supermarket president Herbert Sy opened the doors to the first wave of customers. Baliwag Mayor Romy Estrella and his wife, Baliwag Tourism chair Sonya Estrella, joined them in welcoming the public to the mall.

A blessing was held the day before with a celebrated mass led by Bishop Jose Oliveros. This was followed by  the ribbon cutting ceremony graced the bishop, Bulacan Gov. Joselito Mendoza, Rep. Pedro Pancho, Mayor Estrella and Vice Mayor Ferdie Cruz. SM Founder and chairman Henry Sy Sr., Felicidad Sy, Henry Sy Jr., Hans Sy and Herbert Sy joined them.

Other prominent Bulakenos present included Allen Tengco of Baliwag Transit, Inc., provincial board member Ferdie Estrella, Baliuag University Board of trustees chairman lawyer Domingo Santiago Jr., former San  Rafael Mayor Jessy Viceo and Councilors Chris Clemente and Tomy Patawaran.

Located along Dona Remedios Trinindad Highway, Brgy. Pagala. SM City Baliwag is SM Prime Holding's 33rd  supermall and the second in the province of Bulacan. It will serve customers in Baliwag and nearby  municipalities in the western part of Bulacan like San Rafael, San Ildefonso, San Miquel, Pulilan, Plaridel and  Bustos, as well as nearby provinces like Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.
