Some of the country’s top merchants had a glimpse of the upcoming SM City Naga during the recent Tenants Preview at the SMX Convention Center. SM Prime Holdings president Hans Sy welcomed the tenants; he was joined by SCMC president Annie Garcia, VP for leasing Daisy Chua and SM City Lucena’s mall manager Jayson Terrenal.
Scheduled to open this May, SM City Naga will be SM Prime Holdings’ 34th supermall, and is the company’s first in the Bicol region. It is envisioned to be one of the landmarks in bustling Naga City, which is Camarines Sur’s center for trade, commerce, transport, finance, education and government services.
Located on a 46,000-square-meter property along Roxas Avenue (Diversion Road) in Naga City, the 87,959.38-sq-m, two-storey mall will serve customers in Camarines Sur, as well as neighboring provinces in Camarines Norte, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon and Masbate.
The mall, which has the SM Department Store and SM Supermarket as its main anchors, will have an exciting retail mix, including SM mainstays like SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware and Watsons, as well as the best local and international brands in fashion, home furnishings, health and personal care and electronics.
Eating-out options include the SM Food Court, as well as known local and international food chains, specialty restaurants and well-loved homegrown food outlets. It will also have four state-of-the-art cinemas with a total seating capacity of 1,400. For customer convenience, there will be 694 covered parking slots in a four-level parking building, 113 open parking spaces, and allotted parking for 253 motorcycles.
Strategically located across the city’s central business district, SM City Naga is surrounded by 500 large business establishments, as well as 15 schools, 16 hospitals, 11 hotels, six resorts, 12 churches and more than 20 government regional offices. Metro Naga also has 54 residential subdivisions, as well as the Mega Naga Coliseum and various warehousing, distribution and transport companies in the area.
Customers will have easy access to the mall as it is located across the Naga Transport Exchange consisting of the Naga Integrated Bus Terminal, and two jeepney terminals servicing almost all of the intermunicipality transportation. The mall is also 400 meters from the city center, very near the national highway and right beside the PNR railway.
SM City Naga’s design team includes Design Associates, mall designer; Monolith Construction Dev. Corp., general contractor; Jose Siao Ling & Associates, architects; and D.A. Abcede & Associates, project manager.
